The Mathematics and Computing major will be added to the catalog and be available for Georgia Tech students beginning in Summer 2026. The major will be available to new first-year applicants for Summer & Fall 2026, and to new transfer applicants for Fall 2026.
Further updates regarding advising, change of major process, and more for the major will be added to this page.
Student Outcomes
Students who enroll in and complete the Mathematics and Computing major will:
- Have a strong foundation in mathematics and computing skills, enabling them to think critically and creatively at the interface of the two disciplines
- Engage in integrated learning, combining mathematics and computing to understand and apply concepts from both fields cohesively
- Connect mathematical and computational models to solve real-world problems
- Communicate complex ideas, both mathematical and computational, clearly and effectively
- Be ready to engage with the ethical and societal aspects of modern computing, especially in areas like artificial intelligence, data science, and computational decision-making, where mathematical and computational insights must be applied with care and responsibility.
Change of Major
Information sessions with more details about the major, degree requirements, and process will be held in the coming months, with dates to be determined.
